Kimora Lee Simmons breaks silence on daughter Aoki's 'shocking' age-gap fling
Kimora Lee Simmons reveals how she felt when she found out about her daughter's age-gap relationship
Kimora Lee Simmons revealed that she was left in shock when she found out about her daughter's love life.
During an appearance on the latest episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the 50-year-old fashion designer shared how she felt when she learned that her 21-year-old daughter, Aoki Lee Simmons, was dating the 65-year-old restaurateur Vittorio Assaf.
When the podcast host Amanda Hirsch asked Kimora, “What was your reaction to that in real time?”
To which, she replied, “I let my kids make their own mistakes, like I said. That’s the whole thing we were saying about living out your life in public, and I think that’s very, very, very tough."
She further said, "I don’t even think that was a moment for them, though. Or I should say the opposite. I think it was just that — a moment. I don’t think it was anything else."
"I don’t even know…first of all, I know this guy. But I didn’t know this guy in that capacity like with my kid or that you were even dating my kid," continued Kimora. "I know this guy growing up myself. He’s a restauranteur. I don’t know, I don’t want to get into troubles legally but I think his reputation probably proceeds him. Is that okay to say legally?”
The entrepreneur added that she found out about her daughter's love life "when the world found out. "
Aoki and Vittorio met while vacationing in St. Barths, as per People magazine.
