Cynthia Erivo is gushing over her role as Elphaba in Wicked after receiving a second Golden Globe Award nomination.
The 38-year-old actress took to her Instagram account on Monday, December 8 to mark her milestone achievement of getting nominated for the second time for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture under the category of Musical or Comedy.
"WOW!!! What lovely news to receive live from the rehearsal room of @draculawestend. It's an honor to be nominated once again for this film," Cynthia began.
"It has been a beautiful journey to play this character, and this is the cherry on top," she gushed.
Cynthia went on to express her gratitude and said a special thanks to the film's director, writing, "This entire journey could never have been possible without the wonderful leadership of my brother and glorious director @jonmchu and producer extraordinaire everyone could only wish for, Marc Platt."
"Congratulations to my sweet sister @arianagrande!! Thank you @goldenglobes!!" she added.
This year, Wicked: For Good received five total nominations for Globes while the musical received four total nominations last year.
The film did win the ceremony's Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award.
