Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan has expressed his thoughts after Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle, 81, undergone life-saving surgery to amputate his left leg.
Meghan has also finally reached out to her father Thomas Markle after surgery.
A spokesperson for Meghan confirmed Friday evening, “I can confirm she has reached out to her father.”
Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle has undergone life-saving surgery to amputate his left leg below the knee after a blood clot cut off circulation in a hospital in the Philippines.
Thomas’s leg reportedly turned black from a blood clot before emergency surgery.
According to TMZ, Meghan's father had part of his left leg amputated after being rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery this week in the Philippines.
Thomas lost his left foot and lower leg during a 3-hour operation Wednesday, his son, Thomas Markle Jr., told the Daily Mail Friday, as per the TMZ.
Thomas Jr. said, "There was no option. I was told the leg had to be removed and it was a case of life or death."
He went on saying, "One of his doctors said the next two or three days are critical ... They were worried about infection setting in -- sepsis or gangrene. The flesh was black and dying."
Meghan Markle’s father is now prepared to have another surgery to remove a blood clot in his left thigh.
The outlet shared the news on its official X, formerly Twitter handle, saying “Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, reportedly had his left leg amputated below the knee in emergency surgery.”
Commenting on it, Piers Morgan said, “Reminder that Archewell’s official slogan is: ‘Show Up, Do Good.’ Unless your father’s lost a leg, then it’s: ‘Ignore him.’”
