Meghan Markle appeared to have taken a major aim at Kate Middleton as fans accuse her of trying to steal the Princess of Wales’ big moment.

According to critics, the Duchess of Sussex latest brand promotion for As Ever appeared perfectly timed to overshadow Kate’s upcoming Christmas carol concert.

An insider told Radar Online that it is “Meghan’s first big swing at trying to eclipse Catherine’s Christmas moment," adding that she is trying to "continuing a mission to steal the future Queen's Christmas."

The chatter erupted after Meghan promoted her Christmas gift set on Instagram with one of the pictures featuring a The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse bookmark in book by Charlie Mackesy.

Some eagle-eyed observers pointed it out Mackesy had teamed up with Kate previously to create special artwork for the order of service at her annual carol event in Westminster Abbey.

"Everyone knows Meghan knew precisely what she was signaling. Featuring Mackesy's book looks like a deliberate reference to Catherine's carol service,” they said,

“It comes across as another quiet jab – another carefully placed dig."

Speaking on the matter, a source joked that people are calling Meghan the “Grinch of Montecito,” accusing her of trying to steal attention from Kate’s festive event.

"People are joking she's the Grinch of Montecito – trying to steal Christmas from Catherine,” they said.

Another source shared, "Meghan is intensely focused on her brand and on eclipsing Catherine during the holidays. Some believe she's trying to pull the spotlight straight out of her hands,” they said.

"This is by far Meghan's first big swing at trying to eclipse Catherine's Christmas moment. Everyone sees what she's doing."
