Palace has shared a major update about Queen Camilla’s efforts for ending of domestic violence a day after she called for action to be taken "now" as she reaffirms her support for cause.
The palace shared photos of Queen Camilla with representatives of the group as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which is running from November 25 to December 10.
The royal family shared the photos on Instagram saying, “The Queen has met representatives from Surrey’s Focus Group on Domestic Abuse to hear about their work supporting survivors across the county.
“Her Majesty spoke to volunteers, staff and clients from East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services, I Choose Freedom and Your Sanctuary, who provide vital refuge accommodation, outreach services and specialist support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.”
It further said the group was established in 2019 to raise awareness of domestic abuse, support victims and survivors, and bring together charities, police, local authorities and the courts to improve outcomes for those affected.
On Sunday, the palace also shared a footage of the documentary, "Behind Closed Doors", which followed Queen Camilla as she visited charities and organisations dedicated to ending domestic violence.
The video clip features Camilla speaking to an audience at Palace, saying: "It's just so important to do something now.”
“During the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, discover more about Her Majesty The Queen’s longstanding work supporting survivors of domestic abuse,” the video was shared with caption.
It added, “Domestic abuse affects millions of people across the UK.”
