Southall fire: Towering smoke from blazing warehouse blankets London skyline
Residents have reported that they heard “huge explosions”
A huge blaze has ripped through a warehouse in west London, sending a towering plume of smoke across the London skyline.
About 100 firefighters are trying hard to tackle the fire. According to London Fire Brigade (LFB), the fire broke out in a two-storey building on Bridge Road in Southall at 08:55 GMT.
A warehouse and retail space has also been engulfed by the blaze. Residents have reported that they heard “huge explosions”.
After hearing the fire breakout, LFB sent around 15 fire engines to the affected scene from Heston, Southall, and Ealing.
Taking to X, the brigade posted, “There are now 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters responding to the fire in Southall.”
“Due to the large amount of smoke being produced by the fire, residents in the local area should keep doors and windows closed as crews respond,” the post reads.
The video circulating on social media platforms shows the fire blazing through the large building. As a result of the massive fire, thick black smoke has been puffing out from the affected site.
Moreover, the incident also disrupted the traffic in the area.
However, the cause behind the fire is not known yet, as per official sources.
