After months of fighting, US president Donald Trump signaled to sign the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed by the House with just one dissenter out of 428 members voting for it, earlier Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

The move has won support on both sides of the aisle.

The Senate agreed to pass it unanimously and send it to the White House without a hand count the moment it reaches the chamber.

Congress took the major step of ordering the Department of Justice to make public the release of its investigative files into the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The bill now goes to President Donald Trump’s desk for final signature once it’s transmitted between the chambers.

After months of fighting and calling the issue a “Democratic hoax,” the president has said he’ll sign the bill.

A senior White House official indicated President Trump would sign the bill after it reaches the president’s desk, saying, “Trump will do so whenever it gets to the White House," as reported by CNN.

President Donald Trump had already indicated that he would sign the bill seeking to release the DOJ’s Jeffrey Epstein files if it reached his desk.

“Sure, I would.”

Trump added, “Let the Senate look at it, let anybody look at it, but don’t talk about it too much, because, honestly, I don’t want to take it away from us.”

It was a dramatic U-turn from recent months, as the bill moved through both chambers of Congress on Tuesday, despite the fact that President Donald Trump and Republicans had sought to block it.

As the pressure escalated on the GOP, Trump ultimately gave his party the green light to back the measure.
