X is down – here's what we know

One of the world's busiest social media platforms, X (formerly Twitter), is reportedly down, as it appears the platform is going through a very rough day today, with hundreds of users reporting it is down for them.

Among the other platforms affected by the outage was Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform, which faced a similar outage.

There was a surge in users on X reporting issues on the Downdetector service early on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, as Cloudflare said its global network was experiencing issues.

The internet technology company released a statement on its website, stating, “Cloudflare is aware of and investigating an issue that potentially impacts multiple customers.”

It added, “Further detail will be provided as more information becomes available.”

The first spike in reported problems on Downdetector occurred at around 6:34 am ET, with over 10,522 reports facing issues in the U.S.

Cloudflare services are used by websites widely across the internet.

Cloudflare confirmed, "There are 500 errors, and the Cloudflare Dashboard and API are also failing.

However, Cloudflare is making efforts to fix the problems.

The latest outage follows a recent major Amazon Web Services outage on October 20, 2025.
