King Charles is understood to be exasperated by his shamed brother even after expelling him from all royal privileges.
The monarch, along with other senior members of the family, have been making efforts to divert attention and shed any association with the former Duke of York. Even though Charles beamed during his 77th birthday celebration in Wales during his royal engagements, he is understood to be distressed still.
In a new report, it was revealed that Andrew finds himself “freer than he’s been in decades” after his royal honours and titles were stripped off. Sources revealed that he is joking about “signing up on dating apps, hitting the pub and throwing parties again”.
The behaviour doesn’t show any contrition for the harrowing allegations that he has against him and Charles remains deeply troubled by it, according to royal expert Hilary Fordwich.
Charles, who continues to receive weekly cancer treatments, seemed “withered and withdrawn” during the Remembrance Day service last week, Forwich noted, adding that the “toll of Andrew nightmare” was noticeable.
She told Fox News Digital that the King is “purportedly ‘fed up’ with Andrew and, to the greatest extent possible, will be barring Andrew from any royal events”.
“While Andrew, of course, will always remain his brother, now that he’s a private citizen, the king is likely to further publicly distance himself,” Fordwich explained.
“We won’t be seeing Andrew at any birthday festivities. He’s actually made it worse for himself due to his pride and pervasively privileged attitude, thinking he’s still entitled.”
However, the King does appear to have a soft corner for his nieces, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who have retained their position in the royal family. The sisters continue with their patronages and they both were assigned engagements by the Palace, suggesting that Andrew and his ex-wife were the only ones ousted for their ‘alleged’ crimes.
