Kai Trump's LPGA debut got off to a difficult start, as she struggled in the first round of her anticipated tour.

The granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, Kai Trump shot a 13-over 83 on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in her debut LPGA Tour in The Annika, leaving her last in the 108-player field.

At the Pelican Golf Club, the 18-year-old high school senior bogeyed the first four holes and finished the birdie-less round with nine bogeys and two double bogeys, which left her at the bottom of the leaderboard after day one of the Annika tournament in Florida.

Kai Trump has over 9 million followers across her social media platforms, and she joined the University of Miami’s Hurricanes for the 2026-27 season.

Trump speaks out after making her first LPGA debut, where she admits she was a bit nervous.

“I was definitely more nervous than I expected, but I thought I hit a lot of great shots out there,” Trump said.

Kai Trump continued, “I hit a lot of good shots just to the wrong spots.

“And obviously being my first LPGA event, now I kind of know how it goes. I felt like a little out of order in the beginning, but I kind of got it going afterwards.”

Trump added further, “The whole time I was nervous without a doubt. I thought I did pretty good for just first time, being the youngest player in the field. I had a great time out there.”

Kai Trump ranked 461st in the American Junior Golf Association rankings and was playing only her fourth event of the year.

The prize money for the tournament stands at a whopping $3.25 million and is best known for having one of the finest competitive fields aside from the majors.
