Charli XCX, John Cale drops new song for ‘Wuthering Heights’
Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie lead upcoming adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights’
Charli XCX left fans amazed as she channelled her goth energy in new Wuthering Heights sound track.
Written by Emily Bronte, the novel is based on tragic love story of Heathcliff (Jacob Elordi) and Catherine (Margot Robbie).
It’s synopsis states, "Tragedy strikes when Heathcliff falls in love with Catherine Earnshaw, a woman from a wealthy family in 18th-century England."
The brat singer took to her Instagram to announce the release of the soundtrack Home, featuring John Cale.
She captioned her post, "If there’s beauty, say it’s enough… House featuring @therealjohncale from my upcoming album for “Wuthering Heights” is here. Directed by @mitchryan."
The music video of the song matches the eerie tone of the film.
Set in a remote cabin, it captures both artists in isolation, with Cale delivering a haunting and hypnotic spoken-word passage.
The song uses dark synth sound and simple piano music to create a sad, romantic mood that defines Wuthering Heights.
Previously, Charli has pen about her admiration for Cale, reported by Rolling Stone she once wrote on X, "One thing that stuck with me was how John Cale described a key sonic requirement of the Velvet Underground. That any song had to be both ‘elegant and brutal.’ I got really stuck on that phrase."
Apart from making music, Charli is also handful with her upcoming film projects — including roles in Faces of Death, I Want Your Sex, The Gallerist, and Sacrifice.
Wuthering Heights is slated to release on February 13, 2026.
