Prince William confesses emotional details about Kate’s health battle

Prince William shared rare details of his life behind the closed doors as the Wales family dealt with a very difficult time in their life.

The future king had travelled to Brazil last week for the fifth Earthshot Prize ceremony last week and had delivered a powerful speech at the COP30 climate summit. In between the trip, William had managed to sit down with Brazilian TV show host, Luciano Huck, for a candid interview.

The Prince of Wales spoke about the cancer diagnosis of his wife Princess Kate last year and how the doting parents of three managed manoeuvre the unique circumstances they faced.

“Every family has its own difficulties and its own challenges, and I think it’s very individual as to how you deal with those problems,” William explained to the host.

He explained that as parents, they chose to “communicate a lot” with Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, and admitted feelings like they were “oversharing” sometimes.

He noted that it had its good and bad things but “hiding stuff from them doesn’t work”. William stressed that explaining them the situation and providing them with other viewpoints “helps give them a bigger picture and they can relax more into it, rather than being really anxious about what you're hiding from them”.

He continued, “There can be a lot more questions than answers. It’s always a balancing act, every parent knows that, it's about how much do I say? There's no manual for being a parent, you've just got to go with it, it's A bit of instinct.”

Kate Middleton had announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and after months of preventative chemotherapy, she revealed in September that she was “cancer-free”.
