Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo face trolls after ‘Wicked’ press tour
‘Wicked: For Good’ stars teased by fans over their remarks for each other at the press meetup
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have recently faced trolls after their ongoing Wicked press tour
The stars were asked to describe each other’s “auras” at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Paris over the weekend.
Ariana revealed that Cynthina “was yellow like sunshine” and even said that “there’s also purple”.
Cynthia called the singer and actress “like a ciel blue, you know? Like aqua. And like, sunset-orange”.
After the red-carpet viral moment, one user wrote on Reddit, “We're all holding space for them. Did I say that right?”
“It seems like they've toned it down compared to last year, and wisely so,” remarked another user.
Some other user stated, “I'm sure another full court press like they did last year would've annoyed everyone and possibly turned some people off from seeing the new movie.”
“I can't go through this again,” added a fourth user in reference to the movie stars' previous “cringeworthy” press run moments back in 2024.
Another user mentioned, “They're sweet and all but this annoys me.”
Some other social media user pointed out, “They r so funny honestly.”
Earlier, speaking to Elle magazine, Cynthia revealed that she had seen people online discussing the “lyrics of Defying Gravity,” the stirring ballad her character sings in the movie, and “feeling power from it”.
Meanwhile, Cynthia got emotional and she replied, “I didn't know that was happening. That's really powerful. That's what I wanted.”
