Gaming lovers are disappointed after Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. delayed the release of much anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.
Previously, the game was supposed to come out in May 2026 and now it has been delayed by six months, meaning that now it will be released in November 2026.
The delay aims to further polish the game as Take-Two stated that they have given the developers at Rockstar Games some time to develop the game at such a level that players deserve and expect.
The sixth version of the lucrative video game is expected to disrupt the gaming economy. Previously, the franchise sold 220 million copies of the previous version of the game, GTA 5, making it the second best-selling game falling just behind Minecraft.
This second delay means the development costs continue to increase, which has already allegedly passed the $2 billion mark.
The news has also taken a hit at share prices Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. which fell by 10 per cent after the announcement.
Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick said, “It’s always painful when we move a date.”
The development comes after the Rockstar Games fired 30 employees last week for allegedly leaking confidential information.
Gamers across social media expressed frustration over the decision. One X user expressed frustration, writing, “At this point the Epstein files are gonna get released before this fuckin game.”
Another expressed, “My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.”
