A$AP Rocky is facing a lawsuit from his downstairs neighbour in his luxury New York apartment building, who claims that a leak from the rapper's $11 million condo caused 'catastrophic' damage.
Rihanna's partner-whose real name is Rakim Mayers owns a full-floor, 4,800-square -foot loft with three bedrooms in the building, which was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in the 1990s.
According to court documents, the owner of the $6.5 million apartment below alleges that a leak in December 2024 caused flooding that rendered their unit 'completely uninhabitable.'
Filed on October 30 in the Manhattan County Supreme Court, the lawsuit attributes the 'devastating water intrusion' to the alleged negligence of Rakim Athelaston Mayers (a/k/a A$AP Rocky) and a local contractor, ADE Pro Painting.
The neighbour claims the incident caused extensive damage to the apartment's fixtures, furnishings, and improvements, as well as personal belongings including furniture and clothing, with losses totaling at least $700,000.
Court documents also indicate that the affected residents have spent around $200,000 on temporary housing and related expenses since the incident.
The neighbour, who has since been displaced, is now suing the rapper for $1.1 million, claiming the damage was caused when multiple hot water pipes burst in and around Rocky's apartment last December.
