Jonathan Bailey crowned Sexiest Man Alive 2025: 'Honour of a lifetime'
'Bridgerton' star Jonathan Bailey fans go gaga as the heartthrob adds another feather to his cap
Jonathan Bailey has officially been named Sexiest Man Alive for 2025, and fans can’t get enough of it.
Shortly after the announcement, which featured the Bridgerton star on the People magazine’s cover, the 37-year-old actor appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to celebrate his new achievement.
He stepped out from behind the curtain to reveal the new cover displayed proudly on stage. As per the Tonight Show's long-standing tradition, he signed a copy of the magazine before joining Jimmy Fallon for a chat about how it felt to receive the coveted title.
"I mean, it’s an honour of a lifetime, it really is," the Wicked actor gushed, expressing his gratitude before playfully adding, "And I want to say, Jimmy, thank you so much for turning it down so that I could be here."
"I’m sort of thrilled that PEOPLE magazine has invited someone in to bestow this honour on someone who can really cherish the value of a sexy man," he added.
Fresh off the delightful announcement, fans rallied to social media, flooding X (formerly Twitter) with excitement and praise for the British heartthrob.
One fan wrote, "Jonathan Bailey just raised the global temperature… sorry, not sorry [fire emoji]."
Another added, "Finally, they chose someone ACTUALLY sexy and not someone who was sexy 10 years ago."
A third chimed in, "I agree with PEOPLE for the first time," while another joked, "You know they ate with this one."
One more fan quipped, "Finally, they got it right," referring to last year’s choice of Emily Blunt’s husband John Krasinski.
It is pertinent to note that Bailey’s cover is a milestone moment as it marked the 40th anniversary of magazine’s annual Sexiest Man Alive edition.
