Prince William, Kate Middleton reject royal lodge offer

Prince William, Kate Middleton have finally left their Adelaide Cottage and moved to their new home Forest Lodge despite privacy and safety concerns.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' decision has raised eyebrows among the concerned as the couple took immediate step to find a solace in their new place amid ongoing cotroversies about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

The future king and queen reportedly rejected the option to make luxury royal lodge their future home as King Charles has already asked Prince Andrew to surrender the Windsor property amid ongoing scandals.

A royal insider, aware of the whole situation, has claimed that William and Kate were given an opportunity to home more secured and safe place for themselves and teir three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

'Royal lodge, the 30-room mension, where Andrew spent more than two decades of his life, was an option for the couple to move into the Windsor property, but they said no as they currently want peace of mind, not controversies,' according to the Palace source.

They continued, 'They even took risk with their move as the idea to shift to a public area must be a difficult decision from security point of view.'

It is to mention here that the royal couple's close neighbours had to leave their properties so that no prying eyes could see the future monarch and his family.

There are also speculations that William and Kate's family will not have any live-in staff after their move to Forest Lodge. The children's longtime nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo, and the housekeepers will likely stay on other smaller properties on the estate.

Why did William and Kate chose Forest Lodge to live?

The couple decided to give their lives a fresh start at their new home after a difficult few years as the Adelaide Cottage has some bad memories for the couple.

Shortly after their move to Cottage in 2022, they mourned Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022. They faced more hardship in 2024 when both Princess Kate and the King were diagnosed with cancer.

The monarch already continues to receive treatment. However, the Princess of Wales announced that she was in remission in January.
