King Charles reclaims priceless collection from Andrew’s mansion

Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge is about to get a serious makeover and it’s not the interior decorator’s doing. 

The former Duke of York is set to lose not just his princely status but also the treasured “objets d’art” that have lined the walls of his Grade II mansion.

Back in 2011, Andrew famously advertised a cleaning role at Royal Lodge, promising the lucky applicant duties that included making beds, drawing baths, and dusting priceless picture frames and objets d’art under the guidance of the Royal Collection. 

Now, those very same treasures are headed back to the Royal Collection Trust, one of the largest and most carefully curated royal collections in the world.

The collection which furnishes royal residences and features in exhibitions across the UK has long been guarded with precision. 

While the exact location of each piece remains a closely held secret, sources confirm that Royal Lodge has been home to several highly prized works, all of which will now return to King Charles’s custody.

A royal source confirmed that the 65 year old will not be able to take any of the collection with him to his new residence on King Charles’s Sandringham estate. 

The RCT, one of the world’s most carefully curated collections, declined to comment on the exact location of pieces not on public display.
