Holly Willoughby, Anton Du Beke in line to host 'Strictly'
Producers are now eyeing Holly Willoughby as the frontrunner to take on the iconic role
Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly considering former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby and Strictly judge Anton Du Beke as potential replacements for Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.
Last week, the beloved presenting duo stunned fans by announcing on social media that they would be stepping down from the BBC show at the end of the current series.
In a joint video, Claudia and Tess shared that they were 'always going to leave together,' adding that 'now feels like the right time.'
Their announcement took both fans and fellow judges by surprise.
Appearing on Loose Women just hours later, Craig Revel Horwood admitted he found out at the same time as everyone else, while former pro dancer Oti Mabuse was reportedly in tears backstage.
Following their departure announcement, speculation quickly began about who might take over.
Several names have surfaced, including It Takes Two hosts, Janette Manrara and Fleur East.
However, according to Closer magazine, producers are now eyeing Holly Willoughby, 44, and Anton Du Beke, 59 as the frontrunners to take on the iconic roles.
'Producers want to bring back the Brucey vibe with Anton, and Holly would be the perfect host. The BBC have been desperate to lure her over for a prime-time show for years,' their source claimed.
The source further claimed Holly 'would be over the moon' to host with Anton and 'ticks many of the boxes.'
For unversed, Tess has been presenting the show since it began in 2004, with Claudia taking over the reins from the late Bruce Forsyth in 2014.
