'DWTS' alum issues apology to Taylor Swift dancer after harsh criticism
Taylor Swift dancer receives olive branch after ‘DWTS’ ruthless comments
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dancer, Jan Ravnik, sparked a heated social media debate after his recent elimination from Dancing With the Stars and former pro dancer’s criticism over his performance.
Soon after Swifties began to defend Ravnik and slam the Dancing With the Stars alum, Maks Chmerkovskiy, he took to Instagram and shared an apology video dedicated to the dancer.
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to Jan, for the way my words had made you feel, for hurting your feelings,” Chmerkovskiy said.
Extending an olive branch, he continued, “There’s a lot more that I want to say. I would like an opportunity to do it over coffee, or any kind of time you have to spare. I would love to meet, I would love to talk about this and bury the hatchet.”
The dance champion promised that Ravnik would feel totally different if they could meet in person, adding, “Dare I say we possibly might even be friends.”
Chmerkovskiy then spoke about the backlash he got online, saying, “You can’t really hurt my feelings by saying, ‘Look at you loser, you’ve only won once.’ Yes, I know that more than anybody else,” referring to his shortcomings like anger outbursts which created problems for him on the show, and he eventually had to leave.
The choreographer tagged Ravnik in his video, but so far he hasn’t publicly responded.
