Hollywood A-listers eager for Jimmy Kimmel to run for 2028 presidency
Jimmy Kimmel faces pressure from his industry friends following show suspension scandal
Hollywood stars are eager for Jimmy Kimmel to run for president after his show suspension scandal.
A source told Substack that A-listers are pushing the late-night host to run in for president office in 2028 and even trade in his monologues for Oval Office speeches.
“Hollywood actually thinks they get to pick the next president,” said an insider.
The source went on, “These people spend more time at Nobu than at Walmart, but suddenly they're political geniuses?”
It is pertinent to mention that actor George Clooney's failed Kamala Harris campaign reportedly inspired the industry to go for Jimmy.
“They're pitching him as smart, funny, fearless,” stated another source.
However, the insider mentioned that it's “a tiny bubble casting this role, not thinking about real voters”.
The source noted Jimmy “is starting to believe maybe they are right”.
Meanwhile, the issue is, according to an insider, that for real Americans, Jimmy in the White House “sounds more like a late-night punchline than a serious plan”.
Earlier in September, Jimmy’s long-running show was pulled from the Disney-owned ABC network over the host’s recent comments following Charlie Kirk’s death.
The move led to a very public backlash with fans and fellow celebrities and days later, he was reinstated.
During a conversation with Ted Danson on his Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast on October 22, the late-night host reflected on his first year on air, where he felt he “somehow confused his fans into thinking that he knew what he was doing”.
But Jimmy confessed that he “didn't know what he was doing” and even he “would pray that they cancelled the show sometimes”.
