Meta set to announce Q3 earnings as AI investments surge
Meta’s Q3 earnings are dominated by its AI investment push
Meta’s Q3 earning report is dominated by its ambitious AI investment push, which involves rapidly increasing capital expenditure (Capex) for its long-term AI vision, despite strong growth in the quarter.
Meta has previously announced that it would spend $72 billion in 2025 on AI infrastructure and hiring specialists, a figure that was raised from a preliminary estimate of $65 billion.
The spending includes $14.3 billion invested in Scale AI and at least $ 1. 5 billion invested into a new data center in EI Paso, Texas, and a $27 billion financing agreement with Blue Owl Capital for the Hyperion data center in Richland Parish, Louisiana.
Meta is also spending millions of dollars on recruiting AI experts from tech giants including OpenAI and Apple.
Recently, Meta laid off approximately 600 employees from its AI division. This move reflects a broader level trend among Silicon Valley tech giants.
According to Bloomberg consensus approximately, Meta is expected to report earnings per share of $ 6.72 on revenue of $49.6 billion, up from $6.03 per share and $40.6 billion in the same quarter last year.
The prime motives of Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Meta are not just to focus on selling AI to enterprises, but also to increase its advertising business and encourage participation.
Nonetheless, the Q3 earnings report marks a crucial validation point for the company’s radical nature of the change to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
