Queen Camilla brings bloom of remembrance to Corsham with 10,000 poppies
Queen Camilla opens Bromham’s reborn community hub
Queen Camilla is in full bloom quite literally as she arrives in Corsham to celebrate a heartwarming community tribute marking 80 years since the end of World War II.
The Queen’s first stop was at the charming Martingate shopping centre, where she’s joining locals at a poppy workshop and meeting the dedicated crafters behind The Poppy Project.
Launched by The Peacock Women’s Institute, the initiative set out to create an extraordinary display of 10,000 crocheted and knitted poppies, each one a symbol of remembrance and gratitude.
The crowning moment of the day will see Camilla at St. Bartholomew’s Church, where she’ll attach the final poppy to the stunning cascade draping the church tower completing the vibrant sea of red that’s taken the town by storm.
But her day of community spirit doesn’t stop there. After Corsham, the Queen will travel to Bromham to officially open the village’s brand new community hub.
A labour of love built after a devastating fire in 2021. There, she’ll meet the people who helped rebuild it from the ashes, proving once again that wherever Queen Camilla goes, she leaves behind a trail of warmth, connection, and resilience.
