Sophie Turner, Chris Martin's connection goes way back: Proof revealed

Sophie Turner and Chris Martin appear to be connected by an invisible string, which has ultimately brought them together after their respective divorces and breakups.

The 29-year-old actress and the Coldplay frontman, 48, sparked dating rumours after they went on a “secret date” this weekend.

While they are surrounded by speculation on social media, an old video of the rumoured couple is making the rounds.

In the now-viral video, the Game of Thrones star was surprised by her now-ex-husband, Joe Jonas, 36, who hands her a phone, saying, “I have someone who wants to say happy birthday.”

Turner looks shocked as she covers her face with her hands and screams, “Chris Martin!”

On the other side of the video call was the Yellow hitmaker, who said, “This is Chris from Coldplay. I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band. I hope you are having the best day,” with Turner shaking her head in disbelief and saying, “No.”

Martin ends the video with, “I send you all my love and I hope you’re having a great time. Thanks for being awesome, bye,” and blows a kiss to the camera.

The Joan actress looks overwhelmed by emotions in the video returning the phone to her then-husband, and joked that she was “not going to cry on camera.”

The time of the video is unclear, but Jonas and Turner were married from 2019-2023, so it appears to be at least two to three years old, before the trajectory of both Martin and the actress’ lives changed to a great extent.

Turner dated the aristocrat Peregrine Pearson after her divorce, with whom she recently split, while Martin and his longtime girlfriend Dakota Johnson’s relationship also ended this June.
