Prince William, Kate shift focus to massive storm amid Palace tensions
Prince and Princess of Wales shed light on major crisis situation as royal family braves crisis
The royal family have been facing immense pressure as they navigate the current family crisis as they decide to settle matters with Prince Andrew once and for all.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales are shedding light on a different storm, diverting attention to another crucial crisis which impacts the wider public.
As Prince William gears up for the Earthshot Prize Award ceremony next month in Brazil, the programme has been releasing update regarding the finalists and the important work they have been doing to combat climate change with practical solutions.
On Friday, the Earthshot shared details of the catastrophic storm that hit the nation of Barbados, which is “small in size” but “leading huge change on the global stage”.
The Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley revealed that the massive storm “devastated” their fishing industry. She spoke about how the Bridgetown Initiative is a way to “reform, to bring greater fairness and equity to those who need access to the international financial systems”
They noted that the initiative via its pioneering work has enabled “$700m loss and damage fund for 70 vulnerable nations” and “$100bn commitment from the G20 for developing countries”.
Like his father, William has shown a passion for protecting the planet and he has been furthering the advocacy that Charles led in his youth, speeding up his action into finding real solutions alleviating the planet of its urgent problems.
The update comes as King Charles, with the insistence of Prince William, has been taking a stricter action against the disgraced royal, Andrew.
Last week, Buckingham Palace had released a statement on his behalf stating that he was relinquishing the use of his royal titles and honours as it “distract” from the work from the royal family. Meanwhile, moves are also being made to finally evict him from Royal Lodge after his royal banner was removed from its longtime place inside St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
