Khloe Kardashian breaks silence over infamous paternity question by TV host
Khloe Kardashian addresses 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie's question about her paternity in a 2012 interview
Khloé Kardashian is giving a masterclass in dealing with old wounds.
The Good American founder responded with grace after Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie publicly expressed regret for a 2012 interview in which she asked Khloé to address rumours questioning whether she was really the daughter of Robert Kardashian Sr — the late ex-husband of Kris Jenner.
Guthrie, 53, admitted on the October 20 episode of Today that the on-air moment remains one of her most “embarrassing” career memories, revealing she only asked because she felt “pressure” from producers to go for the “dishy question.”
“I asked Khloé Kardashian, like, 10 seconds before we were going to break, about the rumours that her father wasn’t her father,” Guthrie recalled.
Khloé, 41, responded to Guthrie’s apology on Instagram with nothing but kindness.
“She’s a doll! It takes a big person to take accountability and I just love her!” she wrote on E! News’ Kards Katch Up page, adding heart and crown emojis.
Back in 2012, Khloé handled the question with her signature wit, joking, “I don’t know who my daddy is, I guess.” Guthrie praised her for being “a total class act” even in the awkward moment.
The topic of her father’s death has always been emotional for Khloé. On her Khloé in Wonderland podcast, she shared that being “forced” to talk about him during early episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians was painful but ultimately freeing.
“It was as if a house got lifted off of me after that conversation,” she said.
