Lily Allen finally starts new chapter after husband’s cheating scandal
Lily Allen set for big return with songs about love, loss and recovery
Lily Allen was reportedly preparing for a major comeback after seven years away from music.
The singer has been secretly working on a new album that she wrote in just ten days, which was expected to release later in the autumn through her label BMG.
According to a source, the record was deeply personal and explored how she coped up with her marriage breakdown from Stranger Things star David Harbour.
“It will tell the story of her move to New York and also how she coped with the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour,” the insider said.
“There’s a real outpouring of emotions in it. She’s not had the easiest time and she’s ready to bare her soul.”
Lily reportedly ended her marriage after discovering David’s secret profile on the dating app Raya.
In March, during a live recording of her podcast Miss Me?, the singer admitted she was still struggling with the split, saying, “I am not over it. I am sort of running away. Maybe I will have a nervous breakdown.”
Following the breakup, Lily confirmed she was moving out of their shared townhouse in Brooklyn, which has been featured in Architectural Digest.
However, she bought a flat in London to start fresh and said decorating it really helped her through the difficult period.
“I’ve obviously had quite a hard time and that’s really helped me,” she told The Mirror.
Lily also revealed the flat was in the area where she grew up, calling it a lifelong dream come true despite knowing “people have got judgement around it.”
