Kevin Federline warns 'clock is ticking' for ex-wife Briteny Spears
Kevin Federline makes shocking claims about Britney Spears in his new memoir, 'You Thought You Knew'
Kevin Federline isn’t mincing his words about his ex-wife Britney Spears, to whom he was married from 2004 to 2007.
In excerpts from his upcoming memoir You Thought You Knew, obtained by the New York Times, the former backup dancer says he believes the pop star’s behaviour is “racing toward something irreversible.”
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible,” he writes. “It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK.”
Federline, who shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with Spears, says he’s deeply worried about what might happen if things don’t change.
“From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”
In one particularly disturbing claim, Federline recalls that his sons once told him they didn’t want to go back to their mother’s house because they were afraid.
“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” he alleges. “Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”
Still, Federline insists he’s never been against Spears, emphasising that he’s always tried to support their sons and co-parent peacefully.
“My kids do not know the woman that I married,” he reflects. “And I’ve spent two decades trying to bridge that gap.”
