According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), that reportedly found Pierce asleep behind the wheel of his Range Rover on U.S. Highway 101.
The arrest of Paul Pierce has sparked a severe public backlash due to the Pierce’s stardom and the events leading up to the incident.
The arrest was made after Pierce was spotted parked in traffic for a long time, tired and unresponsive.
While in an Instagram post with a snapshot, Paul Pierce described the situation as being "old" and "tired."
He captioned the post, “Imagine being stuck in stand still traffic for 45 mins and falling asleep. I took this picture that night because I never been in stand still traffic for this long. I’m old, I’m tired, and I fell asleep. I’m good y’all thanks for the love.”
Pierce’s post sparked reaction from fans, while authorities reiterated that the investigation is ongoing and will remain unaffected of his public comments.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that signs of alcohol impairment were evident at the scene.
Although the extent of his intoxication is still unclear, Pierce was taken into custody and a blood sample was collected for further analysis.
As of now, October 14, 2025, Pierce’s blood alcohol content (BAC) test results remain pending.
Pierce’s case is ongoing, with fans and media awaiting BAC results which will determine how the investigation proceeds.
