Keanu Reeves praises Alexandra Grant for handling marriage rumours
Keanu Reeves reflects on facing marriage rumours with girlfriend Alexandra Grant
Keanu Reeves is feeling grateful for the good fortune in his love life, even as marriage rumours about him and longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant continue to swirl.
The Matrix star, 61, addressed the speculation during the New York City premiere of his new film Good Fortune on Oct. 13, telling E! News that the chatter didn’t faze him much.
“Well, that wasn't the first time,” Reeves said with a smile. “We've been going out for a long time.”
He also praised Alexandra, 52, for the graceful way she handled the rumours online after fans mistakenly believed the couple had secretly married.
“The wedding, it's a nice thing,” he said. “People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing. Like, ‘Thank you, but here's the reality.’”
The confusion began in late September after Alexandra posted a photo of the pair sharing a kiss at an art exhibition.
Many assumed it was an engagement or wedding announcement, but the artist quickly set the record straight.
“This is a real photo,” she wrote on Instagram on Sept. 24. “Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement... simply a kiss!”
She continued, “I'm sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married. Good news is much needed these days, but it's still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here's a bit of real happiness!”
Keanu and Alexandra, who began dating in 2018, have kept much of their relationship private over the years, occasionally stepping out together at art events or film premieres.
And while marriage isn’t on the table just yet, it’s clear from both their words and actions that their bond remains strong, built on respect, humour, and genuine happiness.
