Construction on the record-breaking roller coaster, Falcon’s Flight, is moving rapidly at the new Six Flags Qiddiya City theme park with the park confirming it is still targeting a late 2025 opening.

The coaster is designed to break three major world records upon its debut.

The sheer scale of the project, which is part of Saudi Arabia’s massive Qiddiya entertainment complex, has led to intense global interest and recent internal communications about its opening timeline.

The park’s operator has reaffirmed its commitment to a late 2025 opening for Six Flags Qiddiya City. This is a crucial clarification as a recent company press release had mistakenly suggested a 2026 debut before the company quickly corrected the error.

The entire track for Falcon’s Flight, which runs over a vast distance and features a dramatic drop off a sheer cliff, has been completed.

The ride began testing as early as July 2025, with test runs reportedly completing the main drop and initial circuit segments.

Falcon’s Flight is being called the world’s first “Exa Coaster,” a new term for a roller coaster over 600 feet (183 meters) tall.

Falcon’s Flight is not just big; it will be the most extreme roller coaster in the world in three categories: Longest, fastest, and tallest.

Set to break multiple world records, the roller coaster boasts a record-shattering track length of 13,944 feet, a top speed of 155 mph, and an incredible height of nearly 640 feet, which is as tall as a 60-story skyscraper.

The ride’s standout moment is its use of the natural cliffs of the Tuwaiq Mountain. The scope of the roller coaster has been described by its designer, Intamin, and other officials with great enthusiasm.

Daniel Schoppen, Vice President Design & Development at Intamin, called Falcon’s Flight “the roller coaster evolution of the century.”
