Patrick Murray was a British actor. He was most famous for his role as Mickey Pearce in “Only Fools and Horses” from 1983 to 2003. He also appeared in films like “Scum” and “Quadrophenia.”

He died from lung cancer in his sleep. He had been battling the illness since he was first diagnosed in 2021. He had received the all-clear in 2022, but the cancer returned and spread in 2023.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that we report the death of our friend Patrick Murray - Mickey Pearce to so many. He was a regular attendee of our conventions and we will miss his humour and the joy he brought to many.”

A BBC spokesperson also paid tribute, stating:

“We are very sad to hear of the passing of Patrick Murray, much loved for his role as Mickey in Only Fools and Horses. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.”

In a previous statement from April 2023, when he revealed his cancer had returned, Patrick Murray had posted on social media.

“Despite all the wonderful efforts by the medical and nursing teams at Medway, Guys, and Kings College hospital, the lung cancer has returned.”

He also added at the time:

“I am feeling positive with my good wife’s awesome support.”
