Gigi Hadid lauds Bella Hadid's return to runway after Lyme treatment
Bella Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme disease at age of 16
Gigi Hadid praised her younger sister Bella Hadid as she stepped back onto the runway following her treatment for Lyme disease.
The American-Palestinian model was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 16 and was recently hospitalised for its treatment. Her runway comeback confirmed that she had been treated for it.
Bella took to her Instagram to highlight her catwalk with a carousel post. Gigi showed support in the comment section, writing, "An absolute serve."
Bella's carousel included photos of her on the runway, modelling a belted midi dress, sunglasses, statement earrings and stilettos, and getting fitted behind the scenes.
Previously, in 2020, Bella opened up about her Lyme disease and the symptoms she struggles with daily, including headaches, insomnia, light and noise sensitivity, brain fog, anxiety, confusion, joint pain, disordered eating, nausea and weight loss and gain.
During Bella’s treatment, her mother, Yolanda Hadid, wrote on her Instagram post, "As you will understand, watching my Bella struggle in silence has cut the deepest core of hopelessness inside me."
She continued, "The invisible disability of chronic neurological Lyme disease is hard to explain or understand for anyone. I try to lead by example on our Lyme journey, but my own pain cannot compare to watching my baby suffer."
