Meghan Markle uses As Ever to shut down feud rumours with celebrity pal
The Duchess of Sussex has sent a special gift package to tennis legend and longtime friend Serena Williams
Meghan Markle is shutting down rumours of a feud between her and Serena Williams with the help of a little As Ever package.
The Duchess of Sussex sent over her famous Napa Valley Rosé to the tennis legend amid speculation of tension between the longtime friends. Upon receiving the package, Williams obligingly made an unboxing video and posted it to her Instagram Stories on September 26, tagging Meghan and her lifestyle brand.
The Duchess then reposted the clips to her own Stories alongside three pink heart emojis.
Markle and Williams, both 44, have been friends for over a decade after meeting at the Super Bowl in 2010. The Suits actress has attended multiple of William’s tournaments, while Williams was a guest at Megahn’s royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
The duo also stepped out for a lunch date in California to celebrate the premiere of With Love, Meghan.
However, rumours of a rift began swirling not long after. Fans raised eyebrows when Williams wasn’t a celebrity guest on either season of Markle’s Netflix show.
The Duchess further fuelled feud rumours during her June appearance on the Emma Grede podcast, where viewers noted the tension in Meghan’s body language when William’s successes were brought up.
Body language expert Jesús Enrique Rosas claims that Meghan was “extremely condescending” and showed a “but of contempt” in her smile.
