Pete Davidson trades his Chevy SUV for fatherhood

Pete Davidson is marking a new chapter in his life by giving back to a cause close to his heart while preparing for fatherhood.

The comedian, 31, is raffling off his Chevy Blazer to one lucky fan, with all proceeds benefiting Answer the Call, an organization that supports families of New York City police officers and firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. 

The charity is especially meaningful to Davidson, whose father, Scott Davidson, was a firefighter killed during the 9/11 attacks.

"Hey guys it's Pete Davidson, and you have an opportunity to win my K5 Blazer with a LS3 fuel-injected engine," he shared in a video for Altroo, the fundraising platform behind the raffle. 

Explaining why he’s parting with the car, he joked, "Having a kid, so you can’t really drive a kid in a car that sounds like this." 

After revving the engine, Davidson added, "I am working with Answer the Call because it is my favorite charity. It's also the charity that helped my family when my dad passed away. It's an easy pick for me."

The SNL alum announced in July that he and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt are expecting their first child, calling himself “very lucky and very, very happy” and looking forward to giving his baby the childhood he never had.

As he prepares for fatherhood, Davidson is also continuing his tattoo removal journey. 

On August 29, Hewitt shared photos from a beach day with her boyfriend, showing his chest and arm tattoos noticeably faded. 

While many of his tattoos are still visible, others are clearly disappearing. Davidson previously explained why he decided to start fresh with his skin. 

"So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain," he told Variety in April.

With a baby on the way, a charitable raffle underway, and his ongoing transformation, Davidson seems focused on stepping into fatherhood while honouring his past.
