Prince Harry to wrap up UK trip with touching nod to family legacy
The Duke of Sussex is preparing to wrap up his four-day UK visit in a meaningful way
Prince Harry will wrap up his U.K. visit on a deeply personal note before heading home to California.
On Thursday morning (September 11), the Duke of Sussex will attend a private engagement for the Diana Award, the charity founded in memory of his late mother, Princess Diana, to celebrate young changemakers worldwide.
It’s the final stop on a whirlwind week of appearances that has felt reminiscent of his days as a working royal.
On Monday, Harry stepped out for the WellChild Awards in London, where he praised the charity’s enduring mission.
“The world has thrown a fair few challenges our way. But through it all, WellChild has remained rock solid in its mission: to give children and young people with complex medical needs the chance to thrive, not in hospital, but at home, surrounded by family, friends, and community,” the 40-year-old said in his speech.
He even delighted guests with a balloon-sword fight and a few ad-libbed jokes.
On Tuesday, the Duke travelled to Nottingham to support the Community Recording Studio, a project close to his heart. He pledged £1.1 million of his own money to BBC Children in Need, calling it an “investment in futures” and embraced young performers after a moving rap performance.
After honouring Diana’s legacy, Harry will return to Montecito to reunite with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
