Prince Harry pals risk Meghan’s fury revealing real story behind UK return

Prince Harry appears to be surrounded by supportive friends during his four-day visit to the UK as his ties with the royal family remained strained.

The Duke of Sussex, who left the UK in 2020 with his wife Meghan Markle, has been “pining” for his old life which is why he made such a public call for a reconciliation with his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, after losing security appeal in May.

Friends of Harry are now stepping up for the royal, not caring if they irk Meghan in the process, given her reservations about royal return.

In June, a secret peace summit was held between Harry’s chief of secretary, Meredith Maines, and his UK press in-charge with King’s communication secretary, Tobyn Andreae, seemingly working out a plan for a reconciliation.

Sources revealed to The Mirror that Harry’s friends are empathetic towards him and are helping him make amends with the royals.

One of the Duke’s friends told the Standard that Harry has been sending “long” messages on WhatsApp trying to reconnect, indicating he is really “homesick”.

“Spike (his nickname among his old school friends) is seriously homesick. He’s started reaching out to us more and more,” the friend said.

“It started with very long and earnest WhatsApps. We actually all made a decision when we started getting them not to take the p-ss out of them,” they continued

“Something we couldn’t have imagined doing a few years before.”

The friends also noted that King Charles’s estranged son “sounds more normal” and every time a pal from the UK visits America, they definitely try to meet him.

However, it’s a different story for Meghan.

“Whenever anyone goes to America they try to see him. It never seems to be with Meghan though. We think he is beginning to pine for home.”

Previously, royal expert Jennie Bond suggested that Meghan could be nervous about Harry returning to the UK. This would mean that she would lose her special place with Harry.

Although, she pointed out that Harry and Meghan would have definitely discussed the matter together and he wouldn't have gone ahead unless Meghan didn’t agree.
