Princess Kate makes last-minute U-turn after Prince Harry's moving gesture
The Princess of Wales has made a last-minute change of plans to support Prince William amid Harry's return
Princess Kate has made a last-minute change of plans just as Prince Harry made an unexpected gesture as he landed back in the U.K.
On Monday, September 8, the Princess of Wales joined Prince William at an engagement at the Women’s Institute to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II — who was a WI member for 80 years — on the third anniversary of her passing.
The Prince of Wales was originally expected to attend today’s event in Sunningdale solo. But Kensington Palace confirmed only hours before that Princess Catherine had decided to stand by her husband, delighting guests at the Women’s Institute near Windsor Castle.
Clips shared by the Daily Mail’s Rebecca English showed Kate looking elegant in a grey checkered dress as she and William were warmly greeted by attendees. The couple had already paid tribute to the late Queen on social media earlier in the day, resharing the Royal Family’s official Instagram post.
Princess Catherine’s surprise appearance came as Prince Harry touched down at Heathrow after an 11-hour flight from California in the early hours of Monday.
The Duke of Sussex, who is in the UK for a four-day visit, privately visited his grandmother’s grave at St George’s Chapel in Windsor before heading to tonight’s WellChild Awards in London, according to the Daily Mail.
Harry’s arrival has sparked fresh speculation about a possible reunion with King Charles, though no meeting has been confirmed.
