During the exciting game, Alcaraz took on his opponent, Sinner, and won the match in four sets, securing 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
This was his 6th Grand Slam and his triumphant return to the world no.1 ranking which demonstrated his all-round capabilities on multi-surface courts.
The 22-year-old Spaniard said, “I want to start with Jannik. It’s unbelievable why you are doing the whole season; great level during every tournament that you are playing. I am seeing you more than my family.”
“It’s great to share a court, to share the locker room , to share everything with you,” Alcaraz said while paying tribute to Jannik.
“It had been two spectacular weeks, at a very high level tennis-wise, but above all mentally, which I am very proud of. The first US Open title was about my youth and this one is about maturity. Little by little I am growing,” he added.
Besides Trump, other celebrities including Stephen Curry and Pep Guardiola also attended the finale of US Open.
The unprecedented accomplishment of the tennis star took the social media by storm with congratulatory messages, exhibiting Carlos Alcaraz’s surging popularity after regaining top rank.
