Mike Tindall recalls meeting Zara in Australia
Zara and Mike Tindall are considered one of the most beloved royal couples.
The former rugby star and Princess Anne's son-in-law first met Zara during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
In a recent interview, Mike opened up about his first meeting with the Princess Royal's daughter.
Speaking to Australian golfer, Wayne 'Radar' Riley, Mike shared why he loves Australia so much, saying it holds many good memories for him.
'I met Zara there, we won the World Cup there,' he recalled. When asked how he met his wife, he continued: 'During the World Cup. It's always the sliding moments in the fact that I got dropped for the semi-final and I met her that night.'
As Mike explained, he and Zara first crossed paths met at the Manly Wharf bar in Sydney, where he'd gone for a drink to cheer himself better after being dropped from the match.
This comes after Mike reminisced about a magical evening with Zara at Racing Gala.
The sportsman re-posted a photo originally shared by Magic Millions' official account, capturing a moment with his wife Zara Tindall during their 2020 appearance at the prestigious racing event.
The snapshot was taken during the Magic Millions reception in Queensland, part of the annual racing that draws notable guests from around the world.
