Kerry Katona calls Eamonn Holmes 'his dearest friend' amid 'Oriental' drama
The controversy began when Kerry appeared on the morning talk show for a debate on plastic surgery
Kerry Katona has extended her support to Eamonn Holmes after his 'Oriental' remarks, before he issued an apology live on GB News on Thursday.
The former Atomic Kitten star, 44, brushed off the drama as she took to her Instagram Stories and describing Eamonn as one of her 'longest friends' and emphasising he had done nothing wrong.
She said: 'Eamonn Holmes has been one of my oldest and longest friends, He didn't say anything untoward. I adore him and love him to bits.
'I was not offended in anyway shape or form, I absolutely adore Eamonn. Eamonn, I love you truly, I adore you.'
The controversy began when Kerry appeared on the morning talk show for a debate on plastic surgery. She was left stunned as Eamonn dubbed her look as 'Oriental.'
Eamonn asked Kerry if she was happy with her eyes, to which she replied: 'I had them done over a year ago now. It was making my eyes feel a bit heavy so I had an uplift.'
At that point, Eamonn interrupted, adding: 'And you don't look Oriental or anything do you?' leaving Kerry speechless.
The Irish presenter later apologised for his remarks, but it seemed half-hearted.
He said: 'I am sorry, if you don't look well or we have offended you in any way or...oh I do not know.
