It has been reported several times that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle maintained a testy relationship with their courtiers during his time as a working royal.
However, the case involving senior royal aide Jason Knauf was the most highlighted and dramatic one.
It all began when Meghan did not even inform him that she wa about to attend an award ceremony.
Valentine Low, in his biography titled Courtiers, writes that Meghan deliberately undermined him in a 'very public way' leading to some 'awkward moments' for both the Duchess and the aide.
Another public snub of Jason came in December when Meghan attended the British Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall to present an award to her wedding dress designer, Clare Waight Keller.
What makes this fellout more intriguing is that Meghan was already spotted out and about with her new royal aide, Christian Jones, despite Jason's continued presence.
Jason later left the Sussexes' team to take up a new role as a special advisor to Prince William and Princess Kate.
Following Knauf’s role as chief of communications at the Kensington Palace, he is now a trustee for the William’s Earthshot Prize.
The Duchess of Sussex marked her 44th birthday on Monday, 4th August, with her family in California.
It's worth noting that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not lived with the British royal family since stepping down as working royals in 2020.
Since then, there has never been a public birthday wish from the Royal Family to the Meghan, who previously accused them of discrimination and racist remarks.
