Tourists evacuates as wildfire broke out in Spain
The video footage shows a wildfire which has erupted in a popular tourist area
A wildfire has broken out near a Spanish tourist town of Tarrifa, and has forced the evacuations of over 1500 people from beach bars, hotels and campsites.
The minister of the Andalusian Regional Government, Antonio Sanz, updated that 17 aircrafts and helicopters supporting 11 firefighting units arrived overnight to put the fire out instantly.
The wildfire reportedly started in a designated living area for people near a hedge at the campsite.
Due to the extreme winds, heat instantly spread the flames nearby in the wooded areas.
The fire continues to advance southward, posing a serious threat to the entire tourist infrastructure.
In addition, five hotels have been vacant, and a nine-kilometer stretch of highway has been closed due to thick smoke spreading in nearby areas.
Due to the extreme heatwave, Spain remains under a red alert with the temperatures rising near to 40C in many regions.
The cause of the disaster is not yet identified but it might have been fueled by a weeklong dry and hot weather, and it slowed down for a while through overnight calm winds and cooler temperature.
Furthermore, climate experts warn that global warming is getting longer and more intense across the world.
