King Charles to close concert series featuring Meghan Markle's friends
King Charles's Norfolk residence to close for heritage live concerts
King Charles's Norfolk residence, Sandringham Estate, will temporarily close to the public from August 14 to 17 due to the upcoming Heritage Live concert series.
The event will feature performances by artists including Mariah Carey, Stereophonics, and Michael Bublé, who have connections to Meghan Markle.
The concert series will give ticketholders a rare opportunity to enjoy the estate's grounds, but the King will not be in residence during the event. King Charles is expected to spend the summer months in Scotland, following royal tradition.
Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé have both had interactions with Meghan Markle in the past. Carey recorded an episode of her Archetypes podcast with the Duchess of Sussex in 2022, where she famously called Meghan a "diva."
Meanwhile, Bublé has met Meghan several times and even performed at Prince Harry's Invictus Games in Canada earlier this year.
The Sandringham Estate will be closed to general visitors during the concert series, including the Visitor Centre car parks and Courtyard facilities.
The estate has asked for understanding from visitors and promises to welcome them back from August 18 onwards.
King Charles is known to favor Birkhall, a neighboring property on the Balmoral estate, which he inherited from his grandmother.
He and Queen Camilla even honeymooned there after their 2005 wedding and often return to celebrate anniversaries. Meanwhile, Balmoral Castle is preparing to shut its gates to the public on August 10, just days before Sandringham's own temporary closure.
