Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kept their children largely out of the spotlight, but this year fans have been treated to a few rare glimpses into their family life in California.
Meghan has offered intimate snapshots and personal details that have given the public a better sense of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s world behind closed doors.
One charming detail shows that Meghan’s passion for baking and cooking has clearly rubbed off on her youngest child.
Four-year-old Lilibet has been spotted in adorable Instagram moments helping her mum in the kitchen from kneading dough to baking heart-shaped bagels for Valentine’s Day earlier this year.
Now, a child development expert has weighed in on their shared hobby, revealing what these sweet kitchen sessions say about the young royal’s budding personality.
As reported by HELLO!, parenting expert and author of The Gift of Teenagers: Connect More, Worry Less, Rachel Kelly, believes Princess Lilibet’s love of baking with Meghan Markle speaks volumes about both their personalities.
“[Her love of baking] suggests they both enjoy creativity and nurturing others,” Kelly explained. “Baking often appeals to people who are thoughtful, hands-on, and find joy in making something for others to enjoy.”
She went on to say that their shared hobby shows they value non-digital ways of connecting.
“Spending time baking together creates space for connection,” she added. “It’s relaxed, unhurried, and gives lots of opportunities for talking and laughing. Children often open up more when they’re doing something alongside a parent, rather than sitting face to face.”
For Meghan and her four-year-old daughter, Kelly believes the kitchen has become a place to strengthen their bond, build trust, and create lasting memories, a sign that the Duchess is giving her most precious gift: her time and attention.
Meghan, who also shares six-year-old Archie with Prince Harry, has previously posted glimpses of both children enjoying family life on Instagram.
