King Charles true feelings revealed after staffers quit beloved Highgrove
King Charles left upset as ‘rare disagreement with staff’ made it to headlines
King Charles, who is continuing to power through royal engagements amid his weekly cancer treatments, is beginning to feel the toll on his health after latest setback.
The monarch had already been anxious about the upcoming crucial State Visit with U.S. President Donald Trump when he received bad news from his very own royal estate.
Earlier this month, it was released that the King’s beloved estate, Highgrove Garden, experienced a mass exodus of employees due to ‘toxic’ work environment. 11 out of 12 staffers quit their jobs as they complained being underpaid, understaffed and “overwhelmed and struggling to fulfil the king’s requests.”
They accused of being treated like “dirt” at Highgrove which is now directly managed by the King’s Foundation, painting a contrasting image of the monarch from the avuncular figure shown by the Palace, per The Sunday Times.
Now, a source revealed that the King has upset by the statements of his former employees regarding his treatment of staff.
A friend of Charles said the king had been left “saddened” by recent coverage of the matter. He believes that a “rare disagreement with staff” at the garden of his private home was “blown up into front page news.”
Meanwhile, he is also struggling to cope with his health and these issues are not helping.
“He is exhausted. It is tricky because he is energised by the work, but he needs to take a break. Camilla wants him to slow down, but he won’t,” the source said.
