Prince William unmasked Meghan Markle's marriage motives
Prince William feared Meghan saw Harry as stepping stone to family
Prince William "saw right through" Meghan Markle's intentions from the very start of her marriage to Prince Harry.
Sally Bedell Smith recently revealed on her Substack that before her passing, Lady Elizabeth Anson cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II, expressed concerns about the 2018 wedding and questioned Meghan’s true motives.
These worries, it seems, were echoed by Prince William himself, according to Daily Express.
Royal commentator Phil Dampier told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show that the future King was sceptical of Meghan from early on.
"I think, unfortunately, that confirms what I’ve believed for years that Meghan never really intended to remain within the Royal Family," Dampier said.
"She viewed her marriage to Prince Harry as a stepping stone to greater fame and fortune," the expert explained.
"That was Prince William’s main concern from the beginning, which ultimately caused a rift between them. And now, here we are."
As evidence, he cites the Queen’s own doubts conveyed through Lady Elizabeth, noting that such confirmation from a trusted confidante makes the claims "very, very telling"
Royal commentator Esther Okraku further elaborated on the tension, pointing to a cultural mismatch and fractured expectations.
"Meghan thought she was marrying a billionaire, but was marrying a millionaire, with… reduced status," Okraku observed
