Kensington Palace rushes to correct error about key Prince William appearance
Prince William's team issues update after making mistake about sombre appearance
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s team had to issue an immediate correction after they made an error about an important appearance concerning the Prince of Wales.
The future king had stepped out for a memorial on Monday to mark the 20th anniversary of the devastating attacks in London.
William had joined several members of the royal family to honour the victims of the 7/7 London Bombings Memorial Service in Hyde Park.
Following the appearance, Kensington Palace shared an update about the visit but seemingly made an error in the caption. While the team rushed to make the correction, eagle-eyed fans were quick to take note of the mistake and reshared it.
In the post shared on X, the caption had an additional ‘And copy’ before it.
“And copy: Remembering the victims of the 7/7 attacks on this 20 year anniversary by joining survivors and bereaved families at the Memorial Gardens in Hyde Park this afternoon.”
It was then changed to: “Remembering the victims of the 7/7 attacks on this 20 year anniversary by joining survivors and bereaved families at the Memorial Gardens in Hyde Park this afternoon.”
The original post was made at 7.48 p.m. and the corrected version was reuploaded around 8.30 p.m.
