King Charles and the royal family kick off 'Holyrood Week'
King Charles presented special honours to notable figures as he and the royal family kicked off "Royal Week," also known as "Holyrood Week" in Scotland.
On July 1, the royal family released a series of photos from the event on social media alongside a message.
The statement reads, "At the Palace of Holyroodhouse, His Majesty The King held an Investiture ceremony, honouring remarkable individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities and the nation."
The monarch's spokesperson said that Prince William's father granted honours to recipients from across Scotland in order to recognise their "exceptional achievements in fields including public service, charity, business, sports, arts and education."
At the end of the note, the King's spokesperson extended congratulations to the well-deserved honourees.
"Your dedication, passion and service have made a profound difference to the lives of many."
Ahead of this event, King Charles attended the historic Ceremony of the Keys, which took place in the Gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
