Prince William and Princess Kate are looking forward to some much needed family time but this year holds added significance.

With major changes on the horizon, the Prince and Princess of Wales are set to savour every moment with their children, particularly as their eldest, Prince George, approaches a new chapter.

George, who turns 12 on July 22, will begin his final year at Lambrook School this September, sharing the campus one last time with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

After that, he’ll take the next big step into secondary education ,a major milestone not just academically, but personally and royally.

At each appearance, Kate is often seen gently guiding her son, helping him navigate the growing spotlight as he inches closer to his teenage years.

According to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, “The reality of his destiny has begun to hit home.”

Speaking to The Mirror, Bond observed: “He tends to look rather serious when he’s on parade these days.

Charlotte looks demure, Louis looks impish, but George sometimes appears rather preoccupied to me. And who can blame him?”

With the weight of the crown resting on his young shoulders as future king, George is already witnessing firsthand the responsibilities that come with monarchy, watching his grandfather, King Charles, carry out the role he is destined to inherit.

Still, Bond made it clear that George is far from a solemn figure. “He’s not, by any means, always a serious little chap,” she added.

“When he’s with his dad at a football match or fooling around with his siblings and father, he has a wonderful smile on his face and seems happy and relaxed.”
